Being able to test the YETI Panga Backpack 28 in some of the harshest environments from Alaska's rugged, wet and varying landscapes to Hawaii's harsh heat and saltwater exposure we have been able to put this bag to the test. Using this pack in Elfin Cove Alaska, fly fishing for steelhead in the remote Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska was a great first test for the pack.
The pack kept our camera gear, extra layers, fishing gear and food dry throughout the entirety of the Alaska trip. The bag is also comfortable enough to take on day hikes which we often took with us hiking around the island of Kauai, HI.
"The Panga® Backpack is an airtight citadel merging the durability of the Panga Duffel with a tried-and-true backpack design. Its ergonomic DryHaul™ Shoulder Straps offer extra carrying comfort, while the removable chest straps and waist belt provide added stability and security while you trek. And no need to carry it over your head while you wade or blink an eye if left out in the rain, because it's a 100% waterproof gear fortress equipped to outperform any other backpack out there.
" - Yeti's website description.
The Panga Backpack's ultra-strong carrying construction gives you every reason to fly fish, canoe, or kayak in far-flung corners of the wild, while its impermeable shell is built to prevail over every outdoor obstacle. Whether it's whitewater rapids, torrential downpours, or rocky terrain your valuables will be kept dry in the Panga Backpack 28.
We have always been huge fans of YETI having already used the Panga waterproof duffel bags on rafting trips throughout Colorado. Then hearing that the company was expanding their bag lineup with a brand new backpack, we knew it was going to be a total game-changer as far as waterproof bags go. Yeti has a high price tag on most of their products but if you want to buy one cooler or bag and have it last for the rest of your life look no further. Not to mention YETI's incredible customer service and product registration warranty program you're in good hands for anything that may get damaged to your products.
